a toughie

Every once in awhile I give up something just to see if I can. It is usually something not so good for me (think junk food). One time I gave up movie theatre popcorn for a YEAR! And this was pre-Ellie when I was seeing a movie about every weekend. That was a toughie.

The kicker is that I promise Jesus I won't do whatever it is I said I wasn't going to do. I mean, you can't break a promise to Jesus!

I made a really hard one last week and am blogging about it now because I want to cheat. Really bad. I promised Jesus no soda from Jan 1st til my birthday Mar 3. I don't drink a lot of pop, about one a day but man do I love it. I did this in an attempt to drink more water. I hate water. Blech. So, if you are reading...say it with me...

"You can do it!!"

On the Ellie front she has learned some new things recently:

The correct usage of "nevermind"
How to play Simon Says
She likes peas
How to ride a scooter
The joy of pretend play. She just asked to play house. She wants to be the baby and I can be the mother. Such a change of pace. Not.

I think we are on a upswing of behavior. We have been going through a rough patch. Can you say 2 1/2! But things are calming down. As for potty training... that is a whole other post.

Ooh, that is a toughie, but you can do it! It's only two months, right? And then maybe by March you'll be out of the habit and it won't even appeal to you anymore! (Maybe?)

I'm starting my new healthy eating plan today as well. Hooray.

Should I warn you now that 3 is way worse than 2 1/2? No? Ok, I'll keep it to myself.

I need to give up pop too..or at least reduce it to 1 a day. I am a popaholic!

You go girl!

Potty training....ahhhhh....My daughter will be four in May and she still refuses to do a poopie in the toilet. So every time she has to do a tinky she grabs a diaper. Ugh!

Comment #3 - try the Crystal Light packets....they save my life when it comes to water! Don't just try one flavor either...that's not fair. Try at least 3 and if you don't like them - switch back to pop because water is boring!

GOOD LUCK!
