I had a very exciting adventure on Monday. I got to meet Lyndsay from I Used to be Witty! (For some reason, my blog won't let me add links. You can find her blog on my sidebar!)
It was great! She happened to be in town overnight so we met for breakfast. She is just as beautiful and funny as you think she would be. We had a great time and are convinced our daughters are long lost best friends, and just don't know it yet.
It's so funny, we were talking about Beth (c.beth blog) and Keri (forever folding laundry, also on my sidebar) like we knew them and we were all besties. The bloggy world is so funny. I have all these wonderful women I consider friends who I have never even met. All the blogs on my sidebar are women I would love to meet and I hope I get the chance to someday.
We were total amatures and didn't get one single picture together. I know, dumb right? But we really did meet. And it really was fantastic. Looking forward to seeing her again when she is back in town in a few months.
Until then!

just what i needed
Monday night was fantastic!
My friend Megan invited me to a "girls spa night" at the Melting Pot.
For $35 you got:
Wine
Cheese fondue
Salad
Chocolate fondue
treat bag
and a spa service (I chose the chair massage).
It was wonderful and just what I needed to snap out of my funk. Megan and Julie and I just sat, and drank wine, and visited, and ate good food. I feel much better.
Emotionally, anyway.
I happen to currently have the worlds worst head cold. I might be exaggerating a little, but I don't think so. It is that bad.
Girls, I hope you don't catch it!

funk
I know my blog has been lacking lately. But I have an excuse. I am in a funk. A big one.
Maybe it is the fact that it has rained here for the last 10 days.
Or maybe it is the fact that I can't sell my frickin' house.
Or maybe it is the fact that I live with a little pint-sized drama queen.
Or maybe it is none of those things and I am just being a huge baby. I know I lead a charmed life. I get to stay home with a (mostly) adorable little girl, I have a sexy husband I adore, and we are all healthy.
Really, what more is there?
That's why I get so mad at myself at these little pity partys. However, sometimes, a girl just has to be sad and in a funk. And I am in one. So there.
But on the bright side, I checked the weather, and it promises sun and warm weather later in the week, I have a birthday party to plan (4! Really!?!), and I have an exciting fondue girls night tonight to look forward to.
So I need to "snap outta it!"
Plus, look at these two. I am blessed.

a list
March. I don't like March. Even though it is my birthday month, it is a hideous weather month. We have had teasing 65 degree days and today it is 38 and rainy. I am always so ready for warm weather now, and almost expect it, and get extra frustrated when it is soo soo cold. So today I am thinking what I will do this summer when it is warm...
We will:
Watch Ellie ride her "big girl" bike, that she is getting for her birthday
Make BLT's and sweet tea and have a picnic in the backyard
Go to a new and different zoo
Pick the daffodils in our yard and put them in a vase
Wear pretty flip-flops. Ellie is DYING to wear flip flops
Go to an outside movie, and eat tubs of buttered popcorn
Take a walk after dark
Plant flowers and give Ellie her own little pot to plant whatever she wants
Plant tomatos
Play in the sand
Go barefoot and get dirty
Look for faries under mushrooms
Catch lightning bugs
Take Ellie golfing at a real golf course
Which leads to play lots more golf myself
Go to the lake
Wear a pretty sundress on date night
Drink beer with Chris on the front steps after Ellie has gone to bed
Watch So You Think You Can Dance

this kid
I love her more than life itself.
Like, would jump in front of a bus/take her sickness as my own, love her.
But if she doesn't stop whining, I might lose it.
Seriously.
It is driving. me. crazy.
I have tried everything. Now I am just ignoring her when she whines.
Yesterday I ignored her all day.
Yup.
Stellar parenting.
